Figma, Notion

Martian was in their pre-launch stage and I was tasked with four main projects:

01 / Proof-of-concepts

I had to create proof-of-concepts for their prospective clients which entailed visualizing and designing how Martian would integrate with their software (under an NDA).

02 / Dashboard

I created their dashboard as well as the onboarding flow shown to users before they accessed the dashboard for the first time.

03 / AI Playground

I designed an AI playground for their users to get a sense of Martian’s back-end product.

04 / Website

Alongside the graphic designer on our team, I helped in creating the end-to-end website for their desktop and mobile versions.

AI Playground

The AI Playground is perhaps the most challenging and exciting project I’m working on for Martian. The task is to create an AI Playground for prospective users to try the product front-end without having to decide to install and pay for Martian. The co-founder highlighted their current playground and I conducted a usability test with 2 participants (who had a technical background) to identify possible concerns with the usability and interface of the playground. While I would’ve preferred to collect insight from additional participants, we had a tight-deadline to complete the product pre-launch.

I employed qualitative usability testing as well as the think-aloud method to gather insight on the participant’s experience using the Playground. Additionally, as I had a chance to complete these tasks in-person with the participants, I was able to observe and note down any non-verbal cues.

Designing the Playground

It was essential to understand the business goals of creating the Martian playground.

1 1

GOAL 1

Cost & Quality

Martian wanted to highlight the difference in cost and quality of Martian output when compared to other AI models: showcasing that Martian’s quality was higher and cost was significantly lower.

2 2

GOAL 2

Fast-Switching

Martian wanted to highlight the abundance of AI model database Martian provided user with and thus wanted users to be able to 'fast-switch' between models.

3 3

GOAL 3

Value Proposition

Martian wanted to ensure that prospective clients and companies were able to see the direct value proposition of Martian by using the playground.

# Feature 1

Fast - Switch

We wanted to highlight the abundance of AI model dataset Martian provided users with. The fast-switch feature allows users to minimize and switch between models efficiently and intuitively.

#Feature 2

Pinning a Model

We added this feature to allow users to 'pin' preferred models. This would ensure that users are able to see these preferred models at the very top instead of having to scroll back and forth.

#Feature 3

Sorting a Model

I revamped the choosing a model and sorting feature and created a modal pop-up for users to scroll through. This ensured that users were able to easily filter and select the models they preferred.

#Feature 4

Minimize + Open all

The minimize all and open all models allowed users to complete these otherwise time-consuming steps at the tap of a button. According to feedback, 70% users found this feature extremely helpful in their workflow.
